President John Floros has named April Mason as the new NMSU interim provost. Mason’s appointment is effective

Nov. 1, and she will serve as interim provost through the end of the 2018-2019 academic year.
Mason previously served as provost at Kansas State University and has held faculty and administrative positions at Colorado State University and Purdue University.
She holds a Ph.D. in nutrition and a master’s degree in botany, both from Purdue University. Mason’s undergraduate degree is in biology from University of Mount Union in Ohio.
