New Mexico State’s 70-year-old Milton Hall won’t be renovated any time soon.
“Where Milton Hall falls in the master plan is it is listed on our consider for demolition list,” said Heather Watenpaugh, a university architect and campus planning officer. “I can say with pretty good confidence, it’s not going to happen in the next ten years.”
Built in 1948, Milton Hall houses the journalism, CMI and English departments, the computer servers which hold campus-wide data, and the KRWG TV and radio stations. It is also home to rusty pipes, sewage backup and asbestos.
