It’s official. NMSU men’s basketball head coach Chris Jans is leaving for Mississippi State. Jans served as the NMSU head coach for five seasons, compiling an overall win-loss record of 122-32 (.792) and 63-12 (.840) in WAC play.
Jans led the Aggies to four WAC regular-season titles and three WAC tournament titles. He was also named WAC Coach of The Year three times during his five seasons at NMSU.
Last week, Jans led the Aggies to their first NCAA Tournament victory since 1993 with a 70-63 upset win over UConn on March 17, 2022, in Buffalo, New York.
